Mike, Matt and Buzzy, I am so sorry for your loss. I had met your Mom on several occasions but very briefly. She was a Saint to put up with the three of you. The death of a family member is so difficult but to lose a parent/wife it's like losing a part of yourself. Mamie lovingly hepled thousands of students at Millwood Elementary. During the five yers I worked there as an E.P.A. I saw her daily, lovingly helping the students throughout the early morning, busy lunches, and her well planned afterschool program. She was able to manage all the complexities of her important position with humility and a smile. I will fondly remember her for the great work and wonderful person she was. Margaret Campbell

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I have worked with Mamie at Millwood since 2001. She was so capable, dedicated and respected. She gave so much of her life, love, and guidance to the children in the community. Miss you, Mamie.

Mamie was a very special lady. I met her in 2000 as a new staff member at MES. She welcomed me warmly and quickly demonstrated a love and compassion for the children in her care. No matter how long the day or those storms days inside she was always cheerful and upbeat. She treated her staff well and with kindness. While I only worked with her for five years ,she made a lasting impression. I was very sorry when news of her passing reached me., I extend my sympathy to her family - a very loving and supportive group as I learned from the beautiful obituary. The sadness of her passing will eventually be replaced by all those wonderful memories. Prayers for Mamie. Stephen H

I had the privilege of working with Mamie at MES until my retirement 3 years ago. She was an amazing lady who gave so much to our school community! Her bright smile touched us all: teachers, students, and parents. She was part of the foundation of our school community that we will always treasure.

I was never an excel student but I remember Mamie very well. I left Millwood Elementary in 2006. She was a bright light. All my friends loved and adored her. Condolences to the family that her light was extinguished too soon.
