Aunt Gloria was a grand lady. She was lively and friendly to all. She had a smile and a hello for anyone she met. Gloria was an independent spirit. She travelled throughout Canada and the United States. She loved history and learning about other cultures. She lived in Montreal during Expo67. During the year she visited every single pavilion. She loved to bring out her stamped Expo passport recounting what she learned at each one. When she lived in Mississauga, she continued her thirst for knowledge . Every fall she visited the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE). Gloria returned home each visit with a new treasure from a distant land.
Gloria loved to read, her favourite magazines were Reader's Digest and Good Times. She always shared her copies with me.
My aunt had a good sense of humour. She loved practical jokes whether participating in one as a silent partner. When she was the recipient of one. Gloria's red hair would flare yet she always ended in a fit of giggles.
Gloria was my hero, she taught me many life lessons that I am thankful for.
Goria you will be missed. You were my "sunshine". Rest in peace.
