Dear Peggy & Bobby,
I was shocked, and saddened, to completely accidentally hear or Michel's passing while looking for another obituary. We have been in Florida since January and had not heard anything......traveling home now.
I go back over 50 years with Michel to when he first came roaring around the corner in his Dodge Duster up on two wheels, on Wright Avenue, to pick up Peggy for a date. He was always a quiet guy who didn't say much and was easy to get along with.
He was an extremely hard worked that was always eager to take on any project and learn more. He would call me on numerous occasions to ask about electrical situations he would tackle. Lol
I also know how immensely proud he was of Bobby and Amy; and also his grandchildren. I hope all your great memories of him will be a source of strength during this difficult time. We are very sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
Bill & Carmel Shea

Dear Peggy , Bob & family, we were shocked and saddened to hear of Michel's passing. You were the best neighbors anyone could ask for , always the first to offer a helping hand. Michel always had a project on the go , be it building a garage or a fence , nothing was too big or too small and he was always there to the end. I do remember he had quite the chuckle over the rapid increase in the rabbit population after making cages for two. His laugh was contagious and when we think of him it will be with a smile. We cannot imagine your feeling of loss but know it is shared by many, with deepest sympathy & love , Mary & Ken

Still trying to wrap my head and my heart around the fact that you are gone.
Michel, you came into my life when I was 10 years old and you were a friend to me like no one else. You allowed me to tag along with you, no matter where you were going. You introduced me to gambling at a young age, frequenting Sackville Downs racetrack, placing bets and playing the odds! We saw many Bingo halls in those early years and with our share of wins we would always split 50/50. There was never a moment where I thought you might hoodwink a child. I saw first hand your strength of character and your honesty. I loved spending time with you. The best was when you would pick Peggy up from work to take her to the Sackville Drive-In. Much to Peg's chagrin, I would be sitting in the back seat! You would never say no..if I asked if I could come along, you always said yes. Every time!
Michel, so many have talked of your qualities, your generosity, your honesty, your integrity, your kind heart, your humour and your devilment. You were always ready to share a laugh or to tease someone. Oh, how you loved to tease!
Michel, you are already so missed. You have had such an amazing impact on my life but also on Ron's and on my children's. You have etched your way into all of our hearts and there you will always stay. I'll always remember our standing joke...we would say to each other, "See you on Wednesday."
I say goodbye to you now. You have joined our precious Amy and I'm so glad you get to see her again but my heart breaks that we will never see another Wednesday together. Love you so very much, Shirley xo

You will be deeply missed Uncle Michel. A man who taught me a lot in the last few years. I was lucky enough to work a few jobs with him after I came home from Calgary. Some decks and a couple sheds. "Always check your crowns Chris!" A man like him could show you things a book never could. Tricks of the trade. Thank you for always being there for all of us and making a great impact in our lives. A man with a huge heart and hands that built a wonderful family. Take care my friend.
Love Chris, Stacey and Ivy

Michel, losing you is hard.
You have always been there for us all, offering warm laughs and teasing us about one thing or another. You hated having your picture taken but humored me on a number of occasions with a bit of an eyeroll, a sarcastic comment and a smirk. In so many memories at your house, at the apartment and at Nan's, you are there. You've starred in so many of the stories I've heard from Mom and Dad, when they started dating and before that, when you first started dating Peggy. Stories of your humor, your loyalty, your strength of character and your friendship. The way you never said no to anyone needing help. Stories of the projects you and Dad worked on. Stories of the time you spent with Mom when she was just Peggy's bratty younger sister. The stories of your heart.
And such a legacy you have left us in your children and grandchildren. I love you all so much and find solace only in knowing that you are reunited with our beautiful Amy. Please give our love to her until we get there and know our tears are a mix of happiness for your reunion and deep saddness for our loss of you both.
You are and always will be so missed and so loved.

I remember when Peggy and Mike came to live in Lower Sackville. We were neighbors for many years and became the best of friends. We had lots of wonderful times together, whether it was tinkering in his garage with different projects or working together or hunting at the camp that we shared. We had so many great times and Mike was my "Best Man" at our Wedding. Mike would drop in from time to time to visit us which we loved. Peggy our hearts are broken for you and Bobby and the whole Family. Mike will be sadly missed by all who knew him. May he RIP with his beautiful angel Amy. ((Hugs)) Otis and Sharon

RIP Michel. We didn’t fall in the category of close buddies or any fun times tog but when we would go for a visit you always had that gentle and kind way about you and Always with that pleasant smile of yours!
I rem one day going to visit and you were building a “canoe” out in the shed. We were in AWE of the craftsmanship. It was obvious that whatever you built... you built with great pride and enjoyment.
Ron shared some of your unique characteristics and values which really was not surprising. You were always a Gentle Soul. No doubt you touched many lives especially Family and Friends... which was more than just “something” to you ... They were EVERYTHING to you. No doubt you changed their lives in many ways. You were a wonderful husband, besides being an Awesome and Proud DAD and GRANDDAD... and left them ALL quite a legacy! Hope you are Dancing with your Angel AMY and your WONDERFUL PARENTS!!!
Our Deepest condolences to you Peggy, Bobby Allison, Chloe and Dawson and Brad and his beautiful girls, Michaela, Sydney Payton and Mylee!!! May you EACH be Blessed with ALL THE STRENGTH AND COURAGE YOU NEED.

Michel, I still can’t believe you’re gone. All I have are fond memories of you. Since I can remember you’ve called me George. I thought because I loved monkeys you were calling me ‘George ‘ aka Curious George. You just told me a few years ago you meant George Forman !! Oh we laughed that day. You were so funny, and you had such a contagious laugh. You also had such a big heart and there was never a doubt about how much you loved all of us. Fly to the stars and back with Amy, until the day that we all meet again. Rest easily, Michel. You will be missed.
Your buddy, George ❤️

Goodbye my good and true friend. I am missing you. I am so thankful for the goodwill that passed so easily between us. Many times you gave generously and openly of yourself expecting nothing in return. You readily and often shared your energy, your skill and your time, imposing no weight of gratitude or debt. The only satisfaction and payment you were ever looking for was the deepening of comradery and friendship. For you, that was the real joy of building together. In meeting and overcoming a real challenge you met the truth of a situation and the truth of people. It was in that reality that you felt most alive and wanted to live. Many jobs have been done, many structures have been completed but what you were always really working on, renewing and completing was the deepening bonds of real friendship, goodwill and humour. Ironically, all the while, you, the consummate builder, were most interested in deconstructing the distances between us. Your greatest achievement, your greatest "build" if you will, was in sharing yourself and keeping friendships alive. For me this will always be your lasting and enduring signature.
I will truly miss the wit and sarcasm and the sharing together of a laugh over the absurdities of life. Your death is painful, sad and sobering but I am comforted by the fact that my heart cannot and will never forget. Your goodness and generosity changed me and made a real difference in my life. - Love always, brother in law, Ron Crooks

I can still see my little wishing well tucked under the pine in my old backyard in Fall River. It was always such a cherry sight in the spring. Birds and squirrels running all over it, I hope they have lots of lumber for you in heaven Mike. A talented man Peggy.
