Obituary of Gilbert Turner Penny

Gilbert Turner "Joe" Penny, age 75 of Hammonds Plains, passed away suddenly on April 29, 2021. Born July 17, 1945 in Newport Corner to the late Gilbert and Alma (Chapman) Penny.  

Gilbert was well known as “The Master Blaster” and spent the last 32 years dedicated to his business, Laurdon Contracting Ltd. When he wasn’t working he loved working in his yard, playing with the grandkids and serenading Donna with his Hank Williams tunes.  He was a proud Habs fan.  

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Donna; daughters, Angela, Vickie, Carrie and Laura Mae; sons, Greg, Ryan, Adam and Matthew; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill and Allan; sisters, Dora, Joan, Betty and Sandra; many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Cheryl; son, Jarrett; brothers, Ron and John; sister, Donna.  

May you rest in peace.  Your memories will be held close to our hearts.  Love you always and forever.

Cremation has taken place.  There will be no service due to the pandemic.  Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
