Obituary of Kenneth John Oates

58, Lower Sackville. It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Kenneth Oates  on August 27, 2023.Born in St. John’s, NL, he was a son of Geraldine Oates (Norman) of 12 Dundas Street, St. John’s NL and the late John Oates.

Left with precious memories are his wife of 28 years, Pamela Walsh; sons, Joshua, Nathan and Nicholas; daughters, Kristian Mantai (Cody) and Sarah Walsh (John); 7 beautiful grandchildren, Cody, Ryleigh, Isabella, Penelope, Gabriel, Hadley and Jacob and nibling Ly; his mother, Geraldine Oates; brothers, Daniel (Ramona) and Christopher (Carol); as well as many other relatives, nursing colleagues and friends.

Services will be held in St. John’s at Barrett’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 6th at 2:00pm followed by a reception. There will also be a service in Lower Sackville with details to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to KidSport Nova Scotia. Ken loved sports and believed all kids should be able to play a sport.
