Obituary of Everett MacLennan

Everett MacLennan of Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully at the Halifax Infirmary surrounded by his family on December 6, 2023 at the age of 92. Born on May 8, 1931 in Nyanza, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late John and Mary MacLennan (Lane). 
 
Loving husband to Helen MacLennan (Fitzgerald). Loving father to Gail Blackmore (Larry), Carolyn Kelsey (Dennis), Nancy Paterson (Robert) and Denene Morgan (John). Loving brother to Katherine Balmanno. Proud grandparent of Justin Kelsey (Martine), Jordan Kelsey (Antonia), Devon Morgan, Gregory Blackmore (Tara), Joshua Kelsey, Thomas Kelsey, Michael Blackmore, Tavani Guthreau (Ryan), Allana Berry (Gordon), Dylan Morgan, Tiffany Kelsey, and Angie Pineo. Proud great grandfather to Davina Kelsey, Josiah Kelsey, Hannah Kelsey, Ahelia Kelsey, Bentley Berry, Caleb Berry, Isla Guthreau, Beau Berry, Calum Guthreau and Ember Guthreau. He loved his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; first wife Edna MacLennan; brother Daniel MacLennan, sister Harriett Kolody, and brothers Alexander MacLennan, Wesley MacLennan and Owen MacLennan. 
 
Everett worked at Eastern Provincial Airways where he became a manager in the airline industry. He continued to work in a number of positions as a realtor and a carpenter.
 
Everett was known for his kindness and for his strong love for his family. The family reunions held in Cape Breton over 50 years hold special memories for us. He was always there to give a helping hand to others. Everett was happy exploring the outdoors on his boats, ATV and Gold Wing motorcycles; and building and flying RF airplanes. He loved animals and squirrels in particular. Everett loved music and dancing with his wife Helen and their many friends over the years. 
 
In keeping with Everett’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held for the family and a graveside service will be held in Cape Breton at a later date.
