Obituary of Darrel Gilbert Avery

Sergeant Darrel Gilbert Avery “Ave” (RCN- Retired) February 16th, 1949- January 6th, 2024

Ave would like to let you know that his work here is done. He was given the chance to reunite with his beloved Mother, Irene Lehtonen (nee Jones), Father, Gibert Avery, Step father, Eric Lehtonen and his in laws, Helen (nee Joudrey) and Edward Knox, and many others that have gone on before him to the eternal party.

Ave decided to go ahead of his beloved wife, Donna (nee Knox), daughter, Amanda, his 2 brother, Dorrian Avery, sister, Joanne Avery- Goswell and many other family members. He went on to do what he does best and set the table ensuring the forks go on the left and the knives go on the right. Ave wanted to know to remind you if you cry for him to “JAG IT”!

A party will be held in his honor with sharing of words of love, laughter, and joy will be held at the Sackville Legion on 45 Sackville Crossroads, Lower Sackville NS on January 20th, 2024 between 2pm-4pm.
