Obituary of Nancy Jane Alvina Hewey

Nancy passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2024 in the QEII, VG Site Palliative Care unit. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Walter James and Florence Edna (Jarvis) Pitcher. 

She worked for 30 years with the Halifax Seed Co. Her job there was one she truly enjoyed. Her employers and co-workers were her second family. Her enjoyments were reading and her love for dogs. 

Nancy is survived by her son, Sheldon and daughter in-law, Laurie; brother, Dale Pitcher, Calgary. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James and Daughter, Tammy. 

Cremation has taken place under the care of Maritime Cremation Centre. In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, there will be no service or visitation. Interment will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Bridgetown, NS. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Cystic Fibrosis or Canadian Cancer Society.
