Obituary of Donald Dale Harvey

With broken heats, we, the loving family, announce the passing of Donald Dale Harvey. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Donald was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick on November 24, 1947 and passed away at the age of 76 on October 27, 2024.

Don was the dedicated husband to Diane Harvey (Way), with whom they raised two children, Carol (Harvey) Lavoie and Derek Harvey. Donald was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Joyce (Cogswell) Harvey.  

As part of a military family, Donald grew up in multiple locations and at the age of 18, he followed in his father’s footsteps and enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force where he was promoted to Master Corporal.

Don had a long career in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a communications technician where he coded and decoded top-secret messages. An avid reader and devoted Boston Bruins fan, he spent many hours reading mysteries and cheering on the Bruins with his cat Minnie by his side. 

Dad is survived by his loving wife, Diane (Way), daughter Carol (Mike), son Derek (Sarah), sister Debbie (Pete), brothers Gordon (Bonnie) and Fred (Lisa) and his grandchildren Carter and Julia, and step grandchildren Paul and Andrew. 

There will be a celebration of life service at the Maritime Cremation Centre at 67 Temple Terrace, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA, 7 Scarfe Court, Dartmouth, NS.
