Obituary of Beverley Jane McIntyre
On Saturday, January 14, 2023, Beverley Jane (Sampson) McIntyre, loving wife, mother of three, grandmother of 7, passed away at age seventy-six.
Beverley will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Arnold McIntyre; children Karen (Sean) Gatien, Leigh-Anne (Tyler) Harrington, Jennifer McIntyre (Brendan Murphy); grandchildren: Iain and Kathryn Gatien; Noah, Elijah and Eva Harrington; Kian and Olivia Murphy; siblings, Heather McNeil, Terry and Bryon Sampson and numerous other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary (Campbell) and Lawrence Sampson, sister, Lillian Martel and brother, David Sampson.
Beverley grew up in St Peter’s, Nova Scotia and was a proud Cape Bretoner. She moved to Montreal where she met her husband, Arnold McIntyre, and worked for the Royal Bank of Canada. She enjoyed her time there, where many of her clients were Montreal Canadiens players. Beverley continued to work in banking after leaving Montreal and returning to the Maritimes in 1970, where she spent some time in Lower Sackville and New Glasgow before moving to Waverley in 1986. There she co-owned Fall River Physiotherapy where she loved helping the community and was an active member of the St. Rose of Lima Parish. She retired and moved back to her beloved St Peter’s with her husband in 2011.
Beverley loved her family, was an avid reader, sang beautifully and always had fresh baked goods on hand. She will be remembered for having a cup of tea ready, a listening ear, and a heart full of love. We will miss her beautiful smile, infectious giggle, and watching her dance with her devoted husband, Arnold.

A visitation will be held on January 18, 2023 from 6:30PM - 8:30PM, at Maritime Cremation Centre, 67 Temple Terrace, Lower Sackville (902) 252-6767. A funeral mass will be celebrated on January 19, 2023, at 12:15 pm at St. Ignatius of Loyola Church at 5 Bedford St., Bedford, Nova Scotia with a private burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks for a donation in Beverley’s name to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
